They don't stand a chance

I feel so sorry for my future little family. They won't even know it until it's too late but they won't be able to make any decisions in our home. What I mean is I'm already so full of ideas of decorations and photos, pictures I'm gonna take of my children, christmas cards that I'm going to send out, what colors I want to paint the walls... seriously... they don't stand a chance...

But I really love this. I'm going to have it done, even if that means I have to drag my whole family to Disneyland every year to get it done by the silhouette cutters on Mainstreet USA

FACT:

Bow ties enhance self-esteem

Tuxedo Shirts and Bow Ties

I bought this Tuxedo shirt at the GAP yesterday. And I've decided that I really kind of Tuxedo shirts for women. They make you feel classy haha (maybe I'll wear a tuxedo shirt while I stand infront of my virgin wet-bar...).
This is the one I bought

The shirts nice but the necklace is too much

Long... nice

I had to put this in for good measure

But now I'm thinking what about ties? Like this is nice. It's small and not TOO too much. idk. I'll have to experiment

This might be a little too japanese-school-girl-but-really-25-years-old-with-pink-hair... yes they exist, saw tons of them in Japan

I'm going to marry this man

Now thats classy

I love this wet-bar. I really wouldn't have any purpose for a wet-bar but I feel like you're not classy unless you have one.

I do enjoy virgin mojitos, midnight margaritas and pina coladas... maybe I could use it.... plus, look at the dog underneath!

A Moment of Weakness

I kind of made a weird purchase...

I bought a wooden apple crate

I don't really know what I'm going to do with it yet. But my mother had one that belonged to her grandmother and she wouldn't give it to me so I wanted one of my own... even though I have the full intention of stealing hers from her when she's not looking...
Mine is the one on the bottom. It's a light woodgrain, I'm thinking I'd like to stain it like a light grey but then I wouldn't be able to change it back

I'd love to do something like this some day when I actually have a home for more than four months at a time... someday...
I can't wait to get home and have a cup of tea. I'm freezing

Hands

Do you ever just look at your hands? I was looking at mine today. I've come to the conclusion that I have my mom's hands but my dad's fingernails. They're really thick so they're difficult to break but when they do it freaking hurts. My fingers themselves have gotten really long. When I was younger I had those short stubby fingers and I hated them. Part of the reason why I hated playing the piano. But I always have my nails painted. I'm classically partial to red... All the time. But sometimes I like to go with the random colors. Right now I have one hand gold and the other silver. It makes me think of that claymation Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer movie where that cute old snow man sings "Silver and Gold" while the obnoxious animals decorate a Christmas tree... most boring part of the movie.

But anyways, hands are beautiful. Love these photos of hands

I love doing Henna on my hands. I want to do a really big one on my hands again, only at BYU-Idaho everyone just looks at you weird and asks if you were really bored because they have no idea what it is

I love old men's hands, they remind me of my Granddad's hands. Always covered in paint and dried out. Miss him.

Have you ever wondered...

Have you ever been walking around in a touristy-place or walked behind a group of people taking pictures and accidentally gotten caught in the photo? It makes me wonder...

How many random photos of different people am I in?

While in Florida, I had the chance to go to the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter (Harry Potter World) with a co-worker. It had just opened so there was a TON of people, especially international people. We were walking behind this Japanese family and one woman was taking pictures over her head behind her as she was walking. We were right behind her so we started pulling faces and posing as she took picture after picture. It was SO much fun! When she had finished, she started looking at her pictures when she stopped dead in the middle of the street and threw her head back laughing! She turned around and saw our shocked faces. We were so embarrassed but we didn't know what to do! Haha. It was great! I hope she saved those pictures. I totally would have...

Epic Photobomb by Paul McCarthy on George Harrison and some cute birds

Star Wars Rap

I'm really embarrassed because I feel like I post about Star Wars a ton, but you really can't understand how big of a part Star Wars is in my life unless you've met my family... They're obsessed and yet they are still cool... I promise.

Do you remember when this came out? It came out a couple of years ago and it's freaking hilarious! I just rediscovered this again tonight and I had to watch it again.

And then my brother showed me this. He has a son named Luke after Luke Skywalker so I was a little worried that he was serious about this one...

Guilty Pleasures

I am a weak human being. There are too many things in my life that I cannot live without. Actually, I probably could live without them, I just choose not to... hence the guilty part of the pleasure (also, I really hate the word pleasure). So here's a list of my vices. Read them delicately, and try not to judge!

-Antique stores
-Anything Beatles related
-White Chocolate mocha from Starbucks
-Barnes and Nobles
-Buying journals
-Going to movies by myself
-Men with facial hair
-Red lipstick
-Records
-Thai food
-Lacy things
-Being cold
-Dancing in the darkroom with my iPod in (ONLY when I'm alone! Once Kris the lab assistant came in on me dancing to Cake, it was embarasing)
-Leaving the lights off
-Writing letters
-Singing REALLY LOUD in the car by myself
-Anything red
-Sometimes... men with long hair. I'm disgusted by it but its true. I can't help it.

I've got plenty to be thankful for

Being thankful during hard times can be hard. So instead of listing things in my life that I'm thankful for, I'm going to focus more on the people in my lives. It's the people in my life who have truly blessed me. I strongly believe that it's the people in my life who have truly made me who I am. So I'm making a list of the people most important to me...

*Dad- We may not have the same beliefs or too much in common, but he's always there to support me. He keeps my head on the ground, and he's always there to ask me "are you sure this is what you should do?" I know he will always support my decision but he always helps me to think so I can know I'm making the right one. We've gone on so many adventures and he's literally shown me the world. I can't wait for our many more adventures! EuroDisney? ;)

*Mother- She's been my best friend all my life. Our relationship always felt more like a partnership than a mother-daughter relationship and I love her for it. Her opinion always matters (I hate it when she doesn't "care for" my clothing options haha) and her advice has always helped me live my life. Thanks for paving the way for me and being such a strong example to me.

*Joe- For being the 2nd patriarch and father to me. You are an amazing big brother and I will never take for granted all that you've done and sacrificed for me growing up and what you still do for me today.

*Stacey- You're not just a sister-in-law, you're a friend and style guru!

*Shelly- For teaching me how to be a girl. You taught me how to cook, sew, even put on make-up. You taught me patience and obediance. It's because of you and Joe that I tell people I didn't have siblings, I had four parents. You always took care of me and I'll love you forever for it.

*Sue- We lucked out majorly in finding you and adding you to our family. You made my Dad into a new man and it makes me happy to see how happy you've made him. I love you for loving my family and for all the fun adventures you've shared with me.

*Lisa- You are my crazy second mother. I love watching movies with you for your reactions. You have taught me SO many little things. How to properly pack a suitcase, how to keep a kitchen space clean while cooking, and how to bargain shop. I love our song game... I never give you enough props for all the hundreds of times you've won when I've only won two or three times.

*Tabitha- You are one of the best friends a girl can have. I love that we can live states apart and still be so close. I miss our summer of tie-dye, long boarding, and movie marathons. I love that I can alway count on you for distraction and total relaxation.

*Kristi- You are the strongest person I know. You've been through so much and yet you still manage to be there for others. You love me without any judgement and you always give helpful advice.

*Steven- You are hilarious. You never cease to make me laugh.

*Karen- It's nice to be looked-after after looking-after for so long. It may drive me nuts sometimes but it means a lot to me that you care so much. I miss your laugh, your chocolate chip cookies, and our Journey bed-dancing.

*Alyssa- I love your blunt and sarcastic humor, your comforting hugs, your laugh, and "P.S"s. I love that we can drive in a car for 4.5 hours and not stop talking the whole way there.

*Trysten- Thank you for being there for me every night this summer. You were my wind-down and you always listened to me without judgement when I needed you.

*Kristy- Thank you for being there for me in the mornings. You were my pep-talk for the day when I didn't want to go to work and face all that crap. You made me strong and I miss your smile.

*Katie- Thank you for your laugh. It brought us all together. Thank you for your calm and your crazy. And thank you for always being excited about Disney, it kept things magical for all of us.

*Kendall- Thank you for our shared jokes. I miss dancing with you, quoting Sword and the Stone and playing at MK. Thank you for always listening to my stories and making me feel funnier than I really am.

*Jill- I have never laughed so hard, so often with someone. Thank you for our late-night laughs and our sleep-overs in our room and for always making it smell like breath in the morning.

*Allison- You are my artistic inspiration. You bring music into my life (literally) and you make me feel really cool while still pointing out how totally dorky I am. Doctor Who for life!

I have been so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving and try to think hard about the many people who have blessed you in your life. I'm thankful for you!

Leading Ladies

We've been watching a lot of James Bond movies the last couple of days... Don't get me wrong, I love me some Pierce Brosnan as much as the next girl who loves the tall-dark-and-handsome with an english accent. But after bond chick after bond chick, you start to see that there are really only three types of women in those movies: 1- the bad girl, she's sexy but she's got an expiration date usually because she has a habit of crushing people with her knees or because she fell in love with the villain. 2- the smokin' boots, usually a desk-top girl sent over from Intelligence with some news who ends up getting bedded and then knocked off by the villains to get back at Bond, and this all happens within a 5 minute period because her character really doesn't matter. And then 3- the accomplice, she is either a brilliant scientist who doesn't believe in a bra or a fellow spy in skimpy clothing who gives her allegiance with the thought that he will give his... until he meets his next bond girl.

Anyways, I'm sick of spineless women in movies! So I thought about it and made a list. These are ladies that I can respect. They hold their own and they actually have personalities! It's called a character because that's what they need... they need CHARACTER!

Leia is one of my favorites. I love how she first hated Han, she could put him in his place while still falling for those rugged good looks

Meg Ryan is just normal. She's just like a lot of us who can fall for a guy and still think we're crazy while she does it. Plus she goes and gets her man. More power to ya!

Debbie Reynolds is a hero(ine) partially because she succeeded in beating down an actress to get her stud and because of her killer dance moves

Julie Andrews... no need to explain other than, she makes a dirty face look classy

Marion Ravenwood is the boss

Her horseback ridding skills and that sweet sword explains it all

Doris Day was always considered the Girl Next Door, even though her movies were somewhat suggestive, she still held her own

Holly Golightly... Although I'm pretty sure she was somewhat mentally unstable, the way she juggled those men was something to admire

Is she not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

She's GORGEOUS!

Let Down Your Hair!

So I've been thinking... I really want my hair to be long. It's been short for such a long time and truth be told, I'm not interested in paying the $50 for a good hair cut or risk paying less for a bad hair cut at one of those schools. So I've decided to grow it out. I kind of want to see how long I can get it without it looking trashy. But below are a couple of inspirations of mine...

Buttercup from Princess Bride (well and him too *grrrrowl*)

Jennifer Connoly from Labyrinth

Young Priscilla Presley

Young Jane Seymor (talk about hott!)

Haha Cher of course... I always felt like when my parents were younger they looked like a better-looking version of Sonny and Cher

Liv Tyler... watched LOTR lately, she's beautiful!

Young Marie Osmond

Sloane Peterson from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.. every one loved her hair!

Pocahontas... the one of many Disney Princesses who worked that hair!!

Yep... sooooo true. Have you ever tried to copy their hairstyles? It's gravitationally impossible

Secret Behind Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I thought this was cool... and yes, I have totally been all over these tunnels. They're crazy cool!

I'm Getting Excited!!

Soon!! I am leaving so soon! In about two months I'll be there already! So when I saw this picture I got even more excited. This is a picture of the Partner's statue on main street in Disneyland. Simple beautiful and I'll see it every day!

Remember when...

Do you ever see children's toys and think "Mine were never that cool"? These toys get cooler and cooler and it's getting to the point where I just want to play with them myself!

Do you remember when you wrote your christmas list and the last thing you would ever want to put on that list was clothes? It was 100% toys. I miss that. I don't remember when my list changed from toys to necessities. Crazy days, I miss my youth haha

'Nuff Said

I have yet to find a man who looks good in a mustache under 40

You can leave your hat on...

So I went shopping today. I went to Urban Outfitters and I found this hat. I've always wanted a flat-rimmed fedora but I never really found one I liked. I was super excited for it but when I got home and showed my mom, well, it wasn't her favorite. Am I crazy?

I feel like I can pull it off... Only we Hallmarks have big heads so it's difficult to find hats that fit... I don't know. What do you think?

Oh Pippin... The things I make him do... and yet he still loves me and keeps my feet warm

We'll stay away from crowds and signs that say no dogs allowed...

I love Pippin. He's so cute. He's got quite the little personality and he is totally, hands-down my best friend! But he's such an awesome dog. Never causes problems and he's always been obedient. So I'm panicked that the next dog I get (once I graduate, already got a name picked out!) is probably going to be a deviant.

Film

This is the reason why I want to learn more about film. I love the timeless beauty of the quality and value of the photos. So simply beautiful.

Chocolate by the Bald Man

Today we went to one of my most favorite places in New York City. Max Brenner is a restruant with the most amazing food and the most amazing chocolate you have ever had! They serve everything with chocolate. They're desserts are to die for and their crepes and waffles leave you in a chocolate coma but they even serve their regular food with chocolate as well. Usually it's really subtle, like cocoa powder and chilli powder on their fries. It sounds weird but it's SO amazing! We're definitely planning on going again before the break is out.

But the best thing about Max Brenner's is the Hug Mugs. They are specifically designed mugs created to make your hot-chocolate-drinking experience more intimate. And oh my gosh, it's the best romance I ever had, even more than any man! The chocolate is thick and perfectly temperate. And the cream that they have on top is about an inch thick and not overly sweet... it's the sexiest thing I've ever drank. Haha

Stuck in the Air-(port)

Yep... I'm still here

I've been sitting here for about four hours and I'll probably be here for an hour more. That's if I'm lucky. Because apparently, even though the city of New York never sleeps... the air port does. So if the plane doesn't get here in an hour, we're pretty much going to be here until tomorrow because the air port closes at 1am.

But it gave me time to think... You know how apparently it used to be favorable to dress up? Like every where you went, you always wore a skirt and heels? Well not me... and probably not you since it's probably before any of our time. But how cool does that sound?

Even on opening day of Disneyland on July 17th 1955, when the weather in Anaheim California got up to a scorching 110 degrees Fahrenheit and women's heels were sinking in the asphalt to the point where male cast members where recruited to carry female guests to their destinations... and they wore dresses?! Calf-length and volume-enhancing slips! This is crazy! I can't even imagine it. While working in WDW, on our days off, we purposely wore as little clothing as possible (while still maintaining modesty, because let's face it, modest it hottest) and did we care that we all looked permanently pink and sweaty? Heck no! We're at Disney! It's our day off!

I can guarantee you that none of these little girls cared which dress they were wearing, unless they were worried about the aerodynamic-ness of their dress because they were just trying to run to the rides!

And then there's the airport, I'm here so I might as well talk about it... But people used to dress nice to travel! Like the stewardesses and stewards. It makes me think about the movie Catch Me if You Can. The pencil skirts and aerosoled hair. Who wants to travel like that? It's so uncomfortable being on a plane for hours on end... imagine being in panty-hoes on top of that! No. Thank. You.

But I'm not going to lie... It did look pretty hott. Plus I really want one of those Panam travel bags...
And since I keep going on these tangents, follow me on one more. Because you can't think of 60's fashion without one reference to Doris Day. Now she was smokin'. Check out this dress from Pillow Talk. She's pretty much completely covered and yet it's the sexiest thing I've ever seen! I want it!

Rock Hudson's character totally checks out her bum in this scene, and let's admit it, we all did because that dress is fantastic!
