So I got to do the coolest thing a while ago. I got to take another tour of the Haunted Mansion. Only this time in Disneyland. It was pretty much the same thing as the tour in Disney World but we didn't really get to do things in as much detail. We just got to walk to track and our guide told us about how things worked.
He told us a couple of stories about things that have happened in their ride, like the man who decided to bring a beebee gun on to the ride to shoot the ghosts. There's a giant hole in one of the million dollar glass walls that creates the illusions of the ghosts in the ballroom. It's too large and expensive to replace, so they had to cover it up with a cob web. It's pretty well hidden, but man people can be stupid!
But one of the cool things about this Haunted Mansion is their Pet Cemetery. It's actually hidden behind the ride near the cast member entrance. It's a real pet cemetery where cast members buried a few pets. Next time you go to Disneyland, ask a cast member to show you and they can take you back to it. It's actually really cool.
We had a relatively small group, which was nice, but the coolest thing was that in our group where the Disneyland Ambassadors! If you don't know who they are, they are pretty much the state representatives of Disneyland. Each Disney park has two ambassadors, they are plaids (or guest relations cast members) who have been given this huge honor to travel around the world and do volunteer work for the park and represent the company. It's really awesome, and I totally want to be them when I grow up!
so yeah... my friend Kelsi is the striped freak in the front haha. Love her
