Some day when I move into a house that has stairs, I'm going to do something like this. I'm thinking what I'll do instead of painting it is to find different red textiles or fabrics with different patterns but within the same hue and alternate them on the steps. Kind of like the yellow, but in red, since I like the pop with the neutral walls.
But it's going to happen.
