Walk in Walt's Footsteps
About two weeks ago, our discount went down from 40% off to 20% off merchandise and discounted stuff like that, due to the up-coming peak seasons of Spring Break and Summer Break. So before that happened, we HAD to go do the tour that we'd been hearing so much about.
The Walk in Walt's Footsteps is a tour on the history of the park as Walt had intended it to be. Basically we walked around the park and learned about where he had thought of ideas for some of the classic attractions, we learned about Walt's vision for the park and all of the fun stories of Walt in his park. It was fantastic!
Our tour guide was named Sandi. She's what we Disney cast members like to call "Lifers". She started working in Disneyland in the 60's. She climbed the Matterhorn, opened It's a Small World, and she was here back when the Stage Coaches still ran in Frontierland. For some of you less Disney-knowledged people, the stage coaches we these notorious horse-drawn coaches that were known for dumping people out when the horses or donkeys refused to cooperate. They weren't there for very long. But anyways, Sandi's husband was also a Disney Lifer. They both reloacated to assist in the building and opening of then EuroDisney, now Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland. She was fantastic. They very typical Disney Tour Guide. Her hair was perfectly coiffed in a french twist and the way she moved her hands at the wrist when she talked only testified to her poise. It was just fascinating to listen to her. I didn't really learn anything new about the park (maybe a couple new small facts, but I'm not trying to toot my own horn here), but she was just great! It really stirred up that goal of mine to be a tour guide for Disneyland. Something I'm DYING to do. But I'm working on it.
Our tour was really small. There was the three of us, a couple from Pitsburg and a family of four who came all the way just to see Disneyland for their oldest. His name is Christopher and he's only 6 but he knows EVERY THING about Disney. This kid was amazing! He spurted out so much information that left Kelsi and I shocked. And we KNOW Disney, so the fact that he was able to drop our jaws is something to be admired about. Plus he was SO FREAKING CUTE!! I want like five of him for myself! He was so amazed when he found out that the three of us worked at Disneyland. And we all agreed that he needed to work for Disney when he's older... yeah, he'll probably own the company. Little baby Bob Iger (current owner of Disneyland, p.s.).
The tour started in Mainstreet, where we learned about Walt growing up in Illinois and then through Adventureland where we went on the Jungle Cruise, through Frontierland where we saw the petrified tree. I learned there that the petrified tree was an anniversary gift from Walt to his wife Lilly. When he gave it to her she said, "What am I going to do with this? Put it in your park..." and it's still there. We walked through New Orleans Square where we learned that Walt had originally wanted to build a Disneyland there because he was so in love with the culture there. And then... we got... to go into... CLUB 33!! For those of you who don't know, Club 33 is the infamous and extremely exclusive club/ restaurant above Pirates of the Carribbean. It's a seven year long waiting list (that just closed) to join, where you have to pay $500 a month to be a member and that doesn't even cover the $150 a plate meal they have in the actual restaurant. It was SO amazing!! We didn't actually get to go into the restaurant, but we got to go into the lobby and stand in the lift! Of COURSE we had to take pictures. It was so amazing. I almost cried... moving on... Then we walked through Fantasyland where we walked around the Matterhorn and ended in the Tiki Room.
It was just amazing! The weather was pretty nasty and rainy but I just die over the history of it all! I don't care that I've been to the park everyday since I've been here, I don't get tired of it. I love it here. This is my habitat and my passion! I know how horribly goofy that sounds... an amusement park being someone's passion. But if you could only understand the amount of spirit and ideals that have gone into this company and park, then you'd see how amazing it is.
Kelsi, Stephanie, Sandi, and I
We wanted to book it up those stairs to the actual club but we were afraid we'd get kicked out... and I don't really know what's up with my neck, gross.

I love my job!!
You know what I realized?...
I work at a place where children skip
I work at a place where grown men wear silly hats all day long
I work at a place where adults use children as excuses to go on baby rides
I work at a place where people grin all day long just because it "smells like magic" said an older gentleman while walking past the Cone Shoppe
I love it here

A Catholic, an Atheist and a Mormon walk into Disneyland
This isn't some kind of joke, but we are working on the punch line... These are my friends. We're very different but we work really well.
They're really cool. Like me ;D HA! No, actually if you were going to say they were like me, it's because they're weird Disney freaks like myself.
We cry when we see the fireworks and whenever we see Walt. We go to the parks every day and we never get tired of it.
They live next door and I kind of just adopted them like a stray cat. Their apartment is so much nicer and their roommates are a LOT less crazy.
Steph works on Mainstreet serving ice cream and sodas. Kelsi is in Photopass all over the place. They are crazy. But we are awesome
My Crazy Heart
This isn't some kind of over-dramatic blog post
I have a really weird heart.
Some times it forgets to beat. It's like it's mind wanders and it forgets to keep the tempo going. Until it suddenly remembers and with an embarrassed pause, it jumps back to it's melody.
Some times it gets really excited all on its own. I think it day dreams. And when it remembers something that the rest of me isn't thinking about, it jumps around. You know when you think of a memory and it makes you smile even though no one knows what you're thinking? My heart likes to live it's own memories.
He (I don't know why I randomly decided my hearts a guy) but he also gives me really bad hicups. I will get them so bad that my throat will hurt and my chest feels like my heart turns solid. It hurts a lot. And it happens about every other day if not every day.
Today was especially bad.
I've gone to different doctors but none of them can figure out my crazy heart.

beatlemainia is incurable but encouraged... (are you serious?!)
I found this photo on a blog I like to follow... I had respect for the blogger until I saw the caption that was under this photo of Paul... "If he was still around, I would totally shag him!"... ok, shag I can handle but WHAT THE FREAK?! What do you mean "still around"?! Of COURSE Paul's still alive!! You've been posting pictures of the Beatles for three weeks straight!! How can you not know which Beatle is still alive and not?! You are an embarrassment! I am so ashamed right now...
AHH!
I just bought these!!
And I'm uber excited to try them out on the world!! (And I love the fact that I found an appropriate way to use the word Uber)...

Quote
"One morning, about four o'clock, I was driving my car just about as fast as I could. I thought, Why am I out this time of night? I was miserable, and it came to me: I'm falling in love with somebody I have no right to fall in love with." -- June Carter Cash

Have you ever craved a smell?
Right now I'm craving the smell of coconut butter...
Another Day at Disneyland
At the turnstiles of Bugs, handing out 3D glasses...
A BIG man and his wife walk hurridly toward me
H: Hello, welcome! Here are your 3D glasses...
Mr. Exception: Yeah no, my family is already in the theater (the show started at least 5 minutes ago, it's a 9 min. show). Can you just sneak us in there?
H: No I'm sorry. The doors are automatic, I can't...
Mr. Exception: Come on, I KNOW you can make an exception for me!
H: I'm sorry sir, but I can't, the doors are automatic, I can't open them. But the show's almost over if you'd like to meet them at the exit right around the (...)
Mr. Exception: ...UGH! FORGET IT! (And he storms off)
H: (I notice he has a "Just Married" pin) But congratulations!... (he continues to stomp out)
Yeah... have a magical day to you too buddy!!

Home of my future
I'm getting that feeling again where I want to turn in my suitcases...
I've been thinking about bedrooms a lot lately. Whoa there. I mean like cozy sleeping. I'm tired of twin beds. As soon as I get a place, I've decided that I'm NOT sleeping in a twin ever again. I will go without Christmas (?! *GASP*) if I could get a full-sized mattress.
I need a room to feel like a cozy cave. Dark and warm. So a lot of the following colors are a mixture of both. I'm a dark color type person. It makes me feel like I'm home. So bellow is a mixture of things that I'm thinking about as inspiration.
I like blue walls... and I like grey walls... so put them together and WIN!
I have three of these mirrors. They look really sweet when I put them together
I love red. I want to dive-bomb into this bed
I kind of want to try that whole hippy-bed-on-the-floor thing. I don't think head boards are necessary
My favorite bed ever (was a twin) but it is a black wrought iron bed, I'm going to turn it into a couch
But I'm learning to love the white
I have a rug like this in storage. It reminds me of Pippin and unlike this rug, it didn't cost me $99... it was free!
Well, now that I went and did all that, I'm going to go back to my over-crowded apartment and go to sleep in my tiny twin bunk-bed. I hate being 21 and sleeping on a bottom-bunk. I have to get out of here.
FACT:
I just like to raise my eyebrows.
For no random reason at all. It just feels good.
I'm really good at moving my eyebrows. But for some reason I can only raise the right one.

My walk to class
Today was my first day of class at the Disney University. No big deal.
I drove to the parking lot like every normal day to work.
Got on the shuttle to the park, like always.
Walked past the back of a Stellar Mountain...
Through Mainstreet in Marceline, Missouri...
Past the world of Tomorrow which used to be 1986...
Past an empty domain of a sleeping princess...
Past a Swiss Mountain...
Past hundreds of musical children from around the world...
Through a 2D world where animals where clothes...
And right through Minnie's backyard.
Completely empty.
No big deal. Just going to class.
I love my job
this is my favorite photo ever.
it wasn't supposed to happen but it's one of the only photos taken behind the scenes that Walt approved of
beatlemainia is incurable but encouraged
Interviewer: Why can’t you be alone without Yoko?
John Lennon: But I can be alone without Yoko, but I just have no wish to be. There’s no reason on earth why I should be alone without Yoko. There’s nothing more important than our relationship, nothing. And we dig being together all the time. Both of us could survive apart but what for? I’m not going to sacrifice love, real love for any whore or any friend or any business, because in the end you’re alone at night and neither of us want to be. and you can’t fill a bed with groupies. It doesn’t work. I don’t want to be a swinger. I’ve been through it all and nothing works better than to have someone you love hold you.
GUESS WHAT!!!
OK! I am so excited about this!!
I have set up my first Networking meeting with a man from Guest Relations in Disneyland!
I'm going to go talk to him about what exactly they do there and to hear all about the opportunities they have. I'm also hoping that I'll be able to show him my passion for it so he could possibly help me out when I ask to transfer positions after I graduate school.
And they call him "Disney Dave"?! How perfect is that?!! It's this weekend so wish me luck!
Thought
Oh. My. Gosh.
There is a woman who just walked into Starbucks who looks like her mouth got stuck in a pool drain.
When she talks it just kind of flops around like her lips are just flaps of extra skin. They're not even shaped like a mouth anymore?! I know this sounds horrible but I can't stop looking at her!
It's like one of those "turn your frown right upside down" pictures you see as a kid where the grumpy face looks like a smile from upside down, except no matter which angle you look, you can't find it! And I think only one side works... oh gosh. I hope I'm not talking about a stroke victim...
But her forehead is strangely smooth for the amount of jowls she has... it has to be self-modification...
Disney update post soon to come
I'm drowning in homework right now...

May your Valentine's day be a happy one
Valentine's day is supposed to be one of those days (which technically should be everyday...) when you remind your loved ones that you love them. So let me explain myself...
There's one thing in life that I love more than anything. That's making people laugh. I find happiness when the people around me. There's really no better thing than to laugh with those you love around you. So I will go out of my way to bring laughter to my friends and family.
So for my Valentine's Day gift to those of you whom I love dearly, I am dedicating this to you. This is my most favorite scene from any movie and it is my inspiration for life. Click on the Valentine-link below.
HA!
Dear Fresh-
Allison, I got your message. Sorry I didn't answer, I was getting ready for work. Everything's fine except I miss you like a swing set in the snow. I saw this and thought of you. Go knock 'em dead, you white-coated Russian fashionista!
You, Me, and probably Lauren (since that is the weirdest hat I've ever seen and we all wear glasses)
I've been told I'm a fun-gi
